Aasman se aaya Farishta..

Shammi Kapoor - The heartthrob and the ultimate entertainer of Classical Hindi cinemas. He was born on 21 October 1931 in Mumbai.  His real name was Shamasher Raj Kapoor. He was the second son of the three sons born to Prithviraj Kapoor & Ramsharni Kapoor ( the other two being Raj Kapoor & Shashi Kapoor).

Shammi Kapoor was an Indian film actor and director. He entered the cinema world in 1948 as a junior artiste at Prithvi Theatres. He made his film debut in 1953 with the film Jeevan Jyoti, which was a commercial failure.  In 1957, Tumsa Nahin Dekha, in which Shammiji starred opposite Ameeta, proved to be a roaring success at the box office.

After that he was paired opposite Asha Parekh in Dil Deke Dekho in 1959, which again was a big hit. In 1961, his first color film, Junglee, was released, in which he was paired opposite Saira Banu. And then came the romantic genre and Yahoo-Man played romantic roles.

Deewana mujh sa nahin,
 Is ambar ke neeche,
 Aage hai qatil mera,
 Aur mein peeche peeche..

He was also considered as Elvis Presley (1935 - 1977) of India.Shammiji was seen in hit films like College Girl, Basant, Singapore, Boyfriend, Singapore, Professor, Dil tera Deewana, Pyar kiya toh darna kya, Kashmir ki kali, Bluff Master, Bramhachari, Latt Saheb, Tumse Acha Kaun hai, Janwar and many others. He was also known as the actor with most hit films in Hindi Cinemas. He was the only actor of Indian cinema who had right to choose songs and lyrics for his film.

Shammi Kapoor was the founder and chairman of Internet Users Community of India (IUCI). He had also played a major role in setting up internet organizations like the Ethical Hackers Association.

In 1974, the Yahoo-Man donned the hat of a director and made Manoranjan in 1974 and Bundal Baaz (1976). Also he played supporting roles in many films like Hero, Vidhaata, Chamatkar, Hukumat, Batwara, etc and later Jaanam Samjha karo, Waah, Tera kya kehna and Sandwich.

He made his last appearance in Imtiaz Ali's directorial venture Rockstar co-starring his grand-nephew Ranbir Kapoor. Legendary Shammi Kapoor may have passed away, but he still lives on for all of us through his work. Rightly he sung..

Tum mujhe yun bhula ..
Jab kabhi bhi sunoge geet mere..
Sang sang tum bhi gungunaoge..
